OFFICIAL TITLE: Staff Assistant / Admissions Representative
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Director of Admissions
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: May supervise non-professional and/or part time student personnel assigned to the Admissions area.
Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing both on- and off- campus recruiting events for prospective undergraduate students, parents, secondary school counselors, and other individuals or organizations involved with the college selection process; provide counsel and service to prospective students inquiring about admission to the University
Review completed freshmen and transfer application files for admission
Serve as coordinator of the student tour guide program by hiring, training and scheduling student tour guides. Oversee the campus tour visit experience to ensure a high quality and informative visit experience for prospective students and their families. Work collaboratively with the student ambassadors and coordinate student ambassador training and scheduling for other admissions related-events, including but not limited to group tours, open houses, and Congratulations Day for accepted students.
Assist with developing and managing the University’s social media and online presence for prospective and admitted students
Promote and maintain continued cooperation with other administrative, that are integrated with the admissions process
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions
1.Bachelor’s degree required
2.Previous experience in admissions or higher education - strongly preferred
3.Willingness to travel extensively, and work evening and some weekends for recruitment purposes; valid driver’s license required
4.Detail-orientated and possess excellent organization skills
5.Outstanding communications skills, both oral and written
6.Outstanding interactive skills; ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals and groups
7.High energy, enthusiasm, and creativity
8.Ability to perform duties above with or without reasonable accommodation
9.Ability to work independently or as member of a team
