Tenure-track Teacher Education Generalist
Franklin College is a growing, dynamic, private, co-educational, liberal arts institution located 30 minutes south of Indianapolis. The Teacher Education Department at Franklin College, one of the largest programs on campus, is seeking applications for a tenure-track position with a start date of August 2012. A Master’s degree in Education is required, but a Ph.D. or an Ed.D. is preferred in an educational related field. A doctorate will be required for tenure. The Teacher Education Program at Franklin College is NCATE-accredited, standards-based, performance-driven, and assessment-conscious.
The successful applicant will:

have an ability to motivate and educate in a positive and engaging manner,
work collaboratively with colleagues,
possess an aptitude for using technology in the classroom.
Responsibilities of the position may include teaching courses related to:
educational theory and foundations,
human growth and development,
specific content methodology.
In addition to teaching, the responsibilities include quality field supervision, advising students, scholarship, and service to the college and community.
Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum of five years continuous teaching experience in an accredited United States school setting within the past 10 years, who display a wide range of experiences in elementary and/or secondary education settings, and who have a working knowledge of data collecting and analysis.
