FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITION/MEDICAL ASSISTING: Division of Health Professions. MCCC/MTA Unit Position. Anticipated Start Date: September, 2012
Teach classroom and laboratory courses and supervise externships in the Medical Assisting program. Participate in curriculum development, implementation, evaluation, and revision using defined program outcomes. Maintain office hours and advise students. Participate in College service activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in related allied health discipline or nursing, and credentialed in medical assisting by a credentialing organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting performing or observing administrative and clinical procedures performed by medical assistants. Knowledge of curriculum development, implementation and evaluation; including evidence in employing instructional methods and technique appropriate to different learning styles required. Demonstrated ability to work collegially as a leader and a team member required.
PREFERENCES: Master’s degree in related allied health discipline, advanced practice nursing, or physician’s assistant. Previous experience teaching online or hybrid courses. Community college teaching. Sense of humor. Bicultural/Bilingual (Spanish and English).
Salary: Anticipated starting salary range is $42,921.00 - $65,000.00 per academic year; complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary will be determined in accordance with classification determination of MCCC/MTA salary schedule commensurate with education and experience.
