Wheaton College (IL) is seeking candidates for the director of environmental studies. This is a full-time tenure track position at the assistant or associate level to begin in August 2012. Interested applicants should have a Ph.D. in the area of environmental science with additional expertise in biology or geology. The ideal candidate is a faculty member who is actively engaged in environmental fieldwork who has excellent teaching and leadership skills, a vision for environmental science in the liberal arts context, promise for sustained scholarship, and someone who is willing to participate in the Wheaton College Science Station program. Several areas and agencies near the Wheaton campus afford special opportunities for faculty and student research.

Review of applications will begin December 15, 2011 and continue until the position is filled. Applicants should send a curriculum vitae and a description of the their teaching philosophy and research interests to Dr. Dorothy F.
