Detailed Job Description

The Director of Graduate Programs will be directly responsible for the operation of all graduate programs, overseeing a team of employees. In addition, the Director will work closely with the Faculty Graduate Program Coordinator to assure the effective delivery of programs. The successful candidate will be expected to network with regional companies to recruit students, place graduates, secure graduate projects and assure relevance of the Woodbury School's graduate programs.
-Create recruiting calendar that provides efficient use of time and UVU resources to recruit graduate students. Work (supervise) in building placement and alumni base. -Recruit companies to partner with the Woodbury School of Business as well as establishing tuition reimbursement programs for their employees. Network with organizations throughout the state to extend opportunities for students. Serve on advisory boards, chambers, etc. throughout the state
-Develop strategic plans for full-time and part-time programs and coordinate with faculty graduate program coordinator to establish schedules for instruction for faculty and administrators. Supervise coordination of curriculum development and delivery and maintain a good working relationship with faculty coordinator(s). Coordinate graduate assistants activities.
-Provide leadership and support for all programmatic issues, including admission, enrollment, advising, program delivery, alumni relations and graduation for on-campus full-time and part-time business graduate programs to ensure a quality learning experience. Oversee new student orientation and retreats. Participate in graduate support initiatives throughout the University.
-Create opportunities to extend goodwill to students and external stakeholders. Encourage and facilitate a cohort atmosphere for students. Coordinate with Woodbury School of Business administrators to develop, and implement, program objectives and strategies.
-Oversee office management processes and personnel, being a resource for solving complex challenges and opportunities. Responsible for budget management.
-Perform other job related duties as assigned.  

Minimum Qualifications

Requires an MBA or Master's degree in a related field.

-Knowledge of business practices and procedures. Knowledge of marketing techniques.
-Knowledge of community network creation.
-Knowledge of moderate budgeting procedures and techniques, strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills, a self-motivated individual. -Knowledge of college recruiting programs and methods, techniques and procedures of University recruitment.
-Knowledge of career planning, career and internship services.
-Superior interpersonal skills, team management skills, organizational and time management skills. Skills in financial management, supervisory skills and ability to train employees.
-Excellent communications skills: listening, writing and speaking.
-Develop community networks through involvement in business related advisory boards, chambers, etc. Ability to motivate, oversee a team of employees to accomplish goals.
-Ability to work flexible hours.
-Ability to work with a diverse faculty.
-Ability to build relationships with regional organizations and internal university administration.
-Ability to manage a diverse group of students.
-Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of organizations.
-Ability to work independently, problem solve and multi-task.  

Selective Placement Factors

Master's degree preferably from an AACSB accredited business school. Experience with business school administration is preferred.
