Responsibilities

Reporting to the Honors Program Director, the Honors Coordinator assists in running the Honors Program.  The Coordinator works with the Honors Director to oversee the Program budget; with the Registrar, department heads and the Honors Program Director on enrollment and administration of Honors coursework; with students to create campus-wide Honors Program events, such as the Spring Symposium; with the student-led Honors Commission to represent the interests of Honors Program students; and with various campus constituencies whose work connects with or is affected by the mission of the Honors Program.

Program support (50%)  

*Prepares, maintains and updates student files; assists in daily support tasks.

*Joins, from time to time, Program-sponsored travel to conferences and other events.
*Maintain the Honors Program website, keeping current all internship, research, career development links.  Develop and maintain an Honors Program alumni page.  Curate the Honors Program’s online presence, in conjunction with the relevant Honors Program student leaders.

Co-Curricular (50%)

*Organize and promote co-curricular Honors Program events, including the Spring Symposium for Undergraduate Research and other events currently being considered, in conjunction with student leaders.

*Develop and organize additional co-curricular and service projects consulting with and supporting the Honors Program student Commission.

*Act as liaison between academic and support services on campus (such as Residence Life; CILSA; Admissions; Career Center; Intercultural Center; Mission and Ministry) and with constituencies within the local community (such as the St. Vincent De Paul Society.)


Experience and Qualifications:

*A commitment to helping students reach their full academic, personal, and spiritual potential. 

*Strong interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and networking skills.

*Computer database, word-processing, on-line file sharing skills.

*Basic web-design skills preferred.

*Enjoying working with and for college students in a mentoring relationship.

*Ability to work with others in collaborative, collegial environment.

*Ability to work with a culturally and academically diverse community.

*A dedication to lifelong learning and academic integrity.

Bachelor’s Degree required/Master's Degree Preferred.

*Ability to manage multiple projects while promoting student participation in Program governance.

*Willingness to master new technology essential to the development of the Honors Program.

*3 years relevant work experience preferred; familiarity with administrative support in educational contexts strongly encouraged.
