The Quinnipiac University School of Nursing invites applicants for the position of Assistant Director in a new Nurse Anesthesia (NA) program. We are in the process of accreditation to launch a nurse anesthesia (NA) program targeted to open in 2014. The program will offer BSN to DNP as well as post-masters in nurse anesthesia options.
The School of Nursing serves a rapidly growing population of 700 graduate and undergraduate students. As a newly designated School, our dynamic faculty is forging partnerships that offer cutting-edge opportunities for collaboration and programming that will position us for national recognition. Our vision is to become a national model for interprofessional educational excellence that uniquely prepares graduates for the challenges of today's healthcare system. We offer traditional, second degree and RN to BSN options at the undergraduate level. At the graduate level, our DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) and MSN programs currently prepare baccalaureate students to be adult or family nurse practitioners. A post-MSN to DNP option focusing on population-based care is also available.

The Assistant Director is immediately responsible to the director of the nurse anesthesia program and acts in the director’s place during his or her absence. The Assistant Director will share teaching and administrative duties as assigned by the NA Program Director or the Dean including but not limited to participation in admissions, advisory, curriculum, and evaluation committees supporting the NA program. In addition, the Assistant Director will participate in School of Nursing events and committees as assigned by the Graduate Program Director or the Dean.
Qualifications and Special Instructions to Applicants
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
-eligibility for APRN licensure in the state of Connecticut;
-current certification as a registered nurse anesthetist by the NBCRNA;
-current practice experience;
-an earned doctoral degree from an accredited university or enrolled in an accredited doctoral degree program;
-a minimum of three years of experience in nurse anesthesia education;
-evidence of or potential for a scholarly trajectory;
-administrative experience is a plus but is not required.
