Bachelor’s degree, required. Master’s degree in Education or related field, preferred.
Five (5) years experience in academic support services
Experience in a higher education environment working with diverse student populations
Proficient in managing and using technology to provide academic support, computerized instruction, maintaining records and producing reports.
Knowledge of and ability to teach tutoring techniques.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
Experience working with faculty to improve student learning experiences
Experience with peer or professional tutoring programs
Experience with the design and integration of technology and alternative delivery systems of instruction in the teaching and learning process
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Plan, organize, and manage academic support services for Parker University students.
Develop and coordinate traditional and innovative online and face-to-face academic support services for students and faculty members (i.e., academic coaching, tutoring initiatives, academic skill development, etc.).
Train, hire, and coordinate, as required, professional tutors, learning specialists, and/or peer tutors.
Coordinate with faculty, professional tutors, and peer tutors to oversee development of online and face-to-face academic support services (i.e., online tutoring modules, online tutoring sessions, study guides, etc.).
Plan, schedule, and teach workshops to assist students, faculty, and staff in a variety of learning resources and tools.
Work with faculty members to develop more effective learning experiences and resources for students.
Develop methods for assessing the effectiveness of academic support services.
Maintain records and statistics related to academic support services.
Conduct regular assessment of the effectiveness of academic support services.
Coordinate with programs, departments, and faculty members to align and improve resources and tools designed to assist students in developing and improving core academic skills.
