Detailed Job Description
The Research Data Analyst provides analytical support for research efforts. Primary focuses include the management and manipulation of data, applied statistical analyses, interpretation of results, and assists with report generation.
Additional Department Summary:
The Research Analyst is responsible for providing analytical support to Enrollment Management and the UA Office of Academic Affairs by creating and maintaining contextual data and information, providing statistical analyses and predictive models, responding to surveys and adhoc information requests, developing and conducting custom research methods for institutional studies, and enhancing the University's effectiveness through information and process integration.
Required Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience or a Master's degree.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a research, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics or other analytical field of study with a minimum of 2 years related research or analytical experience; or a master's degree or higher in a research or analytical field of study. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, summarize, analyze and disseminate large amounts of information with attention to detail. Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report as determined by the insurance carrier.
Skills and Knowledge:
High level knowledge of Microsoft Excel, relational databases, Structured Query Language (SQL) and SAS, SPSS, R or other data mining software is essential. Excellent communication skills are necessary as the position will be required to communicate statistical information with a wide variety of audiences.
Preference given to Statistics/Mathematics/Economics majors and/or applicants with a Master's degree in an analytical field of study or Data Mining certification. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37835.16 Midpoint - $ 54870.36
