The Program Manager provides oversight and planning for the development, implementation, and delivery of a program(s).

Additional Department Summary:

Manage day-to-day functions of the Alabama Research Institute on Aging, to include planning, administration, evaluation and implementation. Responsibilities include coordinating development and submission of research grant applications; managing research project operations; budgetary monitoring and management; developing and maintaining strong relationships with the media, state and local service organizations and federal funding agencies; building and sustaining linkages among UA faculty/students, Alabama citizens, and human service delivery organizations at local, state and federal levels. May recommend the establishment of policies and procedures. Acts as liaison with University departments to ensure coordination of effort and exchange of information.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of experience, OR a Master's degree and some experience.

Skills and Knowledge:

Excellent oral and written communication skills. Public speaking skills. Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet and/or database management. Good planning, coordinating, and organizing skills. Good analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret policies and procedures. Knowledge of federal grants process (e.g., NIH, NSF, HRSA); Expertise in research project management; Familiarity with analytic technology and its application in an academic research context Willingness to be flexible in work hours and environment; willingness to accept additional responsibilities. Ability to work individually and collaboratively with a wide variety of colleagues. Ability to work with diverse constituencies and demonstrate cultural competency. Ability to act independently; handle multiple tasks; and exercise initiative and good judgment. Skill in program and event planning, implementation and evaluation. Attention to the big picture and detail of projects and programs. Evidence of strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with three years' experience in research project management, or master's degree with one year's relevant experience. 58 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 37835.16 Midpoint - $ 54870.36
