The Director of External Relations provides leadership for the strategic marketing, communication, and outreach efforts for the Division of Student Affairs.

Additional Department Summary:

The position leads a creative staff who develop a full range of messages, materials, and websites, as well as developing divisional electronic business processes. The incumbent also directs the fund-raising, relationship development, and stewardship efforts of the Division. The incumbent collaborates with units who work with external audiences and leads divisional communicators.

Required Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience; OR Master's degree and three (3) years of experience.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:

Must demonstrate the ability to think critically, use professional judgment, and perform the supervisory, management, and leadership responsibilities. Ability to work nights and weekends as needed. Valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.

Skills and Knowledge:

The ability to take data and actions and transform them into exciting and beneficial messages; a collaborative style of developing working relationships and managing projects; writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication; a proficiency in developing and implementing strategic and innovative communications plans; the ability to manage multiple projects, relationships, and priorities simultaneously; and the ability to conduct daily activities with a high degree of independence, setting his/her own priorities, deadlines, and schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least five years professional experience directing information and communication. Work experience in a collegiate environment and previous fundraising experience. 60 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 50918.40 Midpoint - $ 73839.96
