Responsible for the majority of events delivered by the Women’s Success Center (WSC). This role also serves as an advisor to the Women of UVU Club. Additionally, this role has a responsibility to interact with students and community members as they present themselves in collaboration with The Women’s Success Center and other areas.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a directly related field of study or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.
Experience with event planning at a university level, comprehension of student success and retention, and previous work or volunteer work in a university setting.
Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and presenting events.
Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of project management and execution of large scale events.
Knowledge of traditional and adult learners in higher education, the issues facing them, and the resources available to help them reach graduation.
Skills in planning and implementing conferences, workshops, and events.
Skills in effective human relations.
Skills in communication techniques.
Skills in public speaking and report writing.
Skills with software and electronic communication (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google docs, etc.)
Ability to execute large scale events.
Ability to apply effectively general principles to specific conditions.
Ability to follow written and verbal procedures and instructions.
Ability to work effectively with people at various levels of the organization.
Ability to work successfully with a variety of constituencies and offices with varied needs, missions, goals and objectives.
Ability to understand and articulate a client’s needs and concerns as they relate to professional and educational goals.
