Detailed Job Description
This position will have full responsibility for the office of alumni & corporate relations. This will require the oversight of all C&BA events, programs, and initiatives that impact or enhance alumni and corporate relations at the overall college level as well as assist, at the Dean's discretion, in the creation of new initiatives to ensure a consistency in building, creating, and growing relationships between alumni and the College as well as with corporations.
Additional Department Summary:
Position requires excellent communication and marketing skills necessary to coordinate and implement ideas with department heads, faculty, staff, alumni, corporations, and UA administrators. Incumbent has full oversight in planning, marketing and engagement with alumni in regards to Board of Visitor meetings, CES meetings, personal visits, social media and email. Position requires great attention to detail, excellent organization skills and extensive travel as well as interacting with alumni in high-level executive positions. Collaborate with Dean, Director of Development and other constituencies to develop overall strategic alumni relations plan for the College in accordance with the mission of the College and the University. Position also requires excellent management skills to supervise and manage staff in the Alumni and Corporate Relations department. Incumbent will cultivate, solicit and steward major gifts from alumni & corporations, and other external supporters in concert with the Dean and the Director of Development for the College. Oversee efforts to build and maintain these relationships.
Required Minimum Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor's degree and at least (3) three years of professional experience in development, fund-raising, sales, public relations or related field. Good public relations, communications, and interpersonal skills.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:
Frequent travel required. Valid U.S. driver's license required. Must be at least 21 years of age and have an acceptable motor vehicle report as determined by the insurance carrier.
Skills and Knowledge:
A keen understanding of marketing principles that can be applied in alumni and corporate relations. Ability to gain acceptance by all age groups of people in the corporate, alumni and University communities. High energy level and ability to initiate new projects and programs, then manage implementation of such. Ability to plan, organize and carry out major alumni relations projects required. A working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, & presentation software (such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with varying levels of University, alumni, corporate and community environments. Proven track record of problem solving and strategic planning. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Platform presence and ability to present data effectively to large groups of diverse constituencies.
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising/Public Relations, Communications, Business or a related field. At least 4 years experience in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, business or a related field that includes fundraising, membership solicitation, or recruitment. Experience in annual fund sales, alumni chapter development, strategy, marketing, budgetary responsibilities, and proven track record of calling on constituents. Experience with events and event planning are beneficial. In addition, some practical experience in relationship management and marketing desired. 60 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 50918.40 Midpoint - $ 73839.96
