The Project Manager is responsible for serving as the University’s representative to manage the planning, design, construction, and acceptance of multiple public works projects. This position is also accountable to the allocation of resources and program results within the Design Services Team.
A Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field and five (5) or more years of professional architectural, engineering, or equivalent experience which has included demonstrated competence to perform coordination of planning, design, and/or construction of major capital improvement projects. Appropriate professional license and/or one (1) year of supervisory experience may be required. An additional two (2) years of progressively responsible, relevant experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience exclusive of supervisory experience.
Seven (7) years of professional engineering or architectural experience as a Project Engineer/Architect for projects as a consulting Architect/Engineer or owner.
Additional supervisory experience responsible for staff billing submissions, project assignments, and summary reporting to senior level management.
Experience in preparation and management of construction contracts.
Experience with computer applications (including word processing, project management, AutoCAD, Email, etc.)
