Detailed Job Description

-Recruiting for 2 positions-The position of Advisor-Running Start reports to the Director of Running Start. This position provides advisement, recruitment, and other support services to high schools and high school students participating in WSU’s Running Start program. Responsibilities also include providing transitional support for students from high school to regularly admitted status at the university. The advisor also represents WSU and its Running Start program to prospective students and families as well as high school professionals. Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight travel, to represent WSU programs, to consult students, parents and high school professionals.

Required Qualifications

Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of academic advising experience or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree
• Bilingual
• Experience in academic advising
• Familiar with NACEP (National Association of Concurrent Enrollment Programs) standards and policies
