This recruitment will be used to fill two positions in Pullman, WA and one position in Spokane, WA.
The Director of Development positions are key members of the Cougar Athletic Fund staff, sharing significant responsibilities for the CAF’s major gifts fundraising efforts. These positions assists in the advancement of the CAF’s annual giving development efforts, while also identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of approximately 150 major gifts (defined as $25,000 and above).
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which includes eighteen (18) months of full-time fundraising experience which includes demonstrated success of face-to-face solicitation of gifts of $1000 or more, mass market fundraising, event planning and management, donor stewardship, fund tracking and acknowledgements to donors OR comparable experience and one (1) year of managerial experience. Comparable experience totaling four (4) years of progressively responsible full time experience in sales, marketing, public relations or advancement experience which has involved direct face-to-face contact with clients, customers, prospective customers and members of the public may be substituted for the experience requirements. A Master’s degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience.
• Fund-raising experience in a major university/higher education environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Pacific Northwest and/or Pac-12 Conference alumni and fans.
• Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with high profile donors, university alumni and fans in group settings or one-on-one.
• Work experience that demonstrates strong interpersonal skills.
• Five years of work experience at a Division I athletic program or a combination of experience and participation as a student-athlete at a Division I athletic program
• Fund-raising, marketing or related work experience within a Division I athletic program.
