Under general supervision, prepares the teaching laboratories for daily sessions; monitors teaching assistants; prepares solutions and reagents; conducts minor repairs of equipment; updates laboratory documents and maintains inventories.
Knowledge of the use of laboratory instruments, chemicals, and reagents
Knowledge of principles and practices of laboratory testing procedures

B.A. in chemistry required, B.S. in Chemistry preferred; supplemented with two (2) years of related work experience.
Supports teaching in the laboratory courses including problem solving, teaching labs, holding office hours, and communication with students; leads group meetings, prepares weekly course related material, and grades exams.
Leads weekly group meetings to ensure that labs are appropriately prepared according to safety regulations; is responsible for prepping chemicals, laboratory and equipment maintenance, monitoring inventory of the lab, processing lab waste, ordering and maintaining chemicals, supplies and equipment.
Assists with preparation and holding of weekly meetings, supports grading assistants by answering questions, solving issues and ensures consistency and accuracy across all lab sections.
Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
