The Mathematics and Computer Science department invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in mathematics beginning July 1 2012. The ideal candidate must possess a Ph.D. in mathematics or applied mathematics, demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and liberal arts education with an intentionally Christian perspective, and have personal scholarly agenda with which he or she can promote undergraduate research while mentoring students in spiritual and personal growth. Specialty in all areas but especially in analysis, applied mathematics, topology, or math history and foundations is desired.
Responsibilities will include teaching the equivalent of a full six-course load per year. The equivalent load may consist of lab supervision duties or some mentored research seminars. General faculty responsibilities include student advising and department and committee assignments. Application deadline is November 15, 2011.
