Detailed Job Description

Under the direction of the leadership of Financial Aid and Scholarships Office, oversees all aspects of Utah Valley University’s Federal Work Study programs. Responsible for maintaining compliance with all Federal Work Study requirements by counseling students and parents, performing audits, working closely with various campus departments aiding in the Federal Work Study process, and staying current on updates to the Federal Work Study program.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with an bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or a combination of education and experience totaling four years.


Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional policies, procedures, regulations pertaining to federal student aid including needs analysis and eligibility assessment, packaging strategies, academic progress, and use of Title IV funds.

Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.

Knowledge of Banner Financial Aid preferred.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office.


Skills in organizing and prioritizing.

Skills in multi-tasking, and problem resolution.

Skills in listening to customers (e.g. students, staff, management, etc.) and responding proactively to their requests.

Skills in customer service.


Ability to communicate effectively with employees and students and parents in a professional manner.

Ability to effectively prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Ability to make presentations and train staff members.

Ability to multitask in a fast-pace and hectic environment.

Ability to obtain accesses to Federal Government databases pertaining to federal student aid.

Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Pay Range

$28,730 to $38,306 annually
