Detailed Job Description

Under direct supervision, provides administrative support the OB/GYN department and to the Medical Student Clerkship Program. The position is responsible for representing the University by communicating with internal and external constituents; typing correspondence and memos; developing spreadsheets; coordinating travel arrangements; maintaining calendars and coordinating with other calendars; duplicating and distributing material.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma; supplemented with one to three (1-3) years of related experience

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Creates and implements clerkship schedule; works with students to determine preferences and necessary absences and designs a schedule to accommodate those needs; develops an understanding of each clinical service and explains any aspect of the clerkship to students

Prepares for student lectures with OB/GYN faculty; coordinates with administrative assistants, reserves lecture space, and sends out reminders; coordinates outside events (e.g. guest speakers, simulation lab experiences, etc.)

Proctors and directs student exams; assesses student performance by compiling all grade data and applying appropriate weight to component scores; analyzes data for irregularities that could be used to refine or improve grading procedures; transcribes students’ performance summaries and assigns final grade.

Maintains and updates clerkship website and syllabus, continuously updating for accuracy as schedules develop or information changes and is refined.

Coordinates and performs various clerical services, such as making arrangements for events and meetings, distributing mail, making travel arrangements, screening telephone calls, maintaining confidential files and providing technical support; assist Education Supervisor with other duties as requested.

Performs other duties as assigned.
