The Director of Social Media will implement and maintain Saint Leo University’s social media strategies to engage and build online communities with target audiences, including traditional, graduate, online, military, and adult education students that promote an interactive dialogue regarding the Saint Leo University experience, degree offerings, the value of education, and opportunities to improve academic success. The Director of Social Media will integrate analytics, technology, and personal touch points to create relevant content that builds brand awareness and drives engagement.
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive social media strategy that focuses on current and prospective student engagement, fosters brand loyalty, drives enrollment, improves student retention, and showcases innovation
Oversee social media staff, including student ambassadors, to ensure University campus, online, graduate, education center, and military representation
In collaboration with the University communication team, design digital marketing collateral (text, graphics, blogs, videos, ads, etc.) to inspire dialogue and to build relationships with current and prospective students and, when appropriate, other stakeholders
Champion the development of social media management standards, policies, and guidelines of engagement for social media
Develop analytics and reporting methods to measure performance of social media strategies
Provide support for special projects and other duties as assigned for University Campus and COL -Student Support Center in Tampa
A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or other relevant field from a regionally accredited college or University required; Master’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or other related field preferred
Six or more years of marketing experience with increasing responsibility, preferably in education, healthcare, finance, or insurance
Four or more years of social media management experience with direct supervision experience of full-time staff
Demonstrated understanding of national and global markets and distinct needs associated with those markets
Deep understanding of the power of social media to drive awareness and credibility
Superior knowledge of SEO principals, blogging environments, social media and networking platforms, monitoring suppliers, video formats, and creative/graphic design vendors
Ability to identify trends and opportunities and translate them into strategic recommendations
Ability to identify, develop, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive informed decision making
Ability to balance many tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
Ability to craft powerful and engaging messages
Expert understanding of the social media ecosystem
Firm grasp of Google analytics and web traffic resources
Excellent attention to detail and outstanding writing and editing skills
Excellent skills for dealing with the external/internal customer
Excellent oral and analytical skills
Proficient in all MS office programs
