Job Responsibilities

Develops the College’s diversity and inclusion strategic plan including demonstrable and measurable results

Suggests and implements policies, programs, practices and resources needed to foster inclusiveness, diversity and a welcoming community for students, faculty, and staff

Serves as a resource to improve diversity recruitment and retention for faculty and staff

Promotes dialogue and facilitates interaction among groups that represent diversity at the College

Works collaboratively with faculty and staff to expand cultural competencies and greater understanding across the college community

Develops and implements diversity and inclusion awareness, training and educational programs

Develops an annual diversity and inclusion report to share with appropriate constituents

Facilitates training and orientation programs that may include New Employee Orientation sessions, Student Ambassador Orientation sessions, and Sexual Harassment Prevention workshops

Develops training sessions for targeted groups based on their needs

In conjunction with necessary parties/functions, conduct annual Title IX and accessibility audits at each college location

Partner with Student Access offices at each campus to ensure assessment and identification of disability services for students

Serves as the College’s coordinator of all Title IX, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973

Provides ongoing training, consulting, technical assistance, and information services regarding Title IX requirements, grievance issues, and compliance programs

Assists in the development of initiatives and programming for supplier diversity to support the College’s commitment towards improving recruitment and retention of diverse contractors and suppliers

Develops and implements outreach programs to expand business opportunities for Minority Business Enterprises and Female Business Enterprises including collaborating with other organizations that are active in supplier diversity to ensure the creation and deployment of best practices

Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of six years of demonstrated Human Resources and/or diversity and inclusion experience

Demonstrated experience hiring, training, developing, scheduling, supervising and managing the work performance of others

Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department

Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations


Possesses comprehensive knowledge of diversity and inclusion theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

Maintains current knowledge of federal regulations governing diversity and inclusion

Ability to independently set goals and determine best course of action to achieve desired results

Demonstrated advanced Project Management skills

Possess strong organizational, time-management skills, and is results-oriented

Possess strong commitment to providing excellent customer service

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment requiring flexibility and teamwork

Demonstrated ability to develop, foster and cultivate relationships, create opportunities and solve problems

Possess excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to confidentially and discreetly handle subject matters requiring privacy and sensitivity

Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts on major projects

Ability to facilitate top-level collaboration while managing sensitive issues

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality

Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population
