Job Responsibilities

• Collaborates with faculty and Lab Director to facilitate incorporation of simulation and current skills practices into nursing courses
• Collaborates with faculty and Lab Director to develop and implement high quality learning and assessment within the Skills and Simulation Labs, evaluating the effectiveness on the learning process through tracking of student progress and lab activities
• Develops and recommends short and long-range goals for continual development of the Nursing Skills Lab
• Provides student support and maintains interactions with students as necessary
• Provides input to the Director in development and enforcement of lab policies and procedures
• Provides training for faculty who desire more involvement in use of the simulators
• Maintains a thorough working knowledge of simulation equipment in order to operate and conduct scenarios
• Develops and implements a maintenance plan for the lab and simulation equipment and trouble-shoots all equipment as necessary
• Maintains order and cleanliness of the Skills and Simulation Labs
• Maintains, receives and disposes of supply inventory to provide order recommendations
• Provides tours of the Skills and Simulation Labs, and provides demonstration of the equipment
• Provides recommendations for budget and purchase of lab and simulation equipment, supplies and materials
• Assists in identification of funding sources for use in simulation and lab
• Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
• Master of Science in Nursing
• Current, active, non-encumbered RN Ohio license
• Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience as a registered nurse
BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Valid Ohio driver’s license and ability to meet the College’s insurability requirements
• Demonstrated experience making sound decisions that affect a work unit or team
• Demonstrated experience in a role requiring diverse problem solving methods in a variety of situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
• Possesses comprehensive knowledge of nursing theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
• Ability to effectively complete work assignments independently
• Demonstrated intermediate project management skills
• Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Possess strong organizational, time-management skills, and is results-oriented
• Possess strong commitment to providing excellent customer service
• Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment requiring flexibility and teamwork
• Demonstrated ability to develop, foster and cultivate relationships, create opportunities and solve problems

Standard College hours of operation, Monday through Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm
