Detailed Job Description

Federal Relations Policy and Affairs Coordinator plays a key role in the federal relations office by researching policy issues, organizing activities to responding to information requests and serving as a primary point of contact with internal constituencies to support federal relations objectives.

This position exercises independent judgment and discretion and functions as the second to the Director.

NOTE: This position is located in Washington, D.C.

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in a field relevant to area of specialization and three (3) years of experience directly related to the specialty area. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in higher education or similar complex organization.

Demonstrated experience in communications and/or public relations.

Demonstrated experience with legislative affairs and/or government proceedings.

Demonstrated experience interacting with all levels within an organization including senior management and/or executives.

Proficiency with software programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Possession of a valid driver’s license.
