The School of Molecular Biosciences seeks a full time Scientific Assistant to join a federally and privately funded research lab. The Scientific Assistant will analyze data, process and when necessary prepare figures/tables for public information and grant submission. The incumbent will problem solve, and develop experimental design in collaboration with the Principal Investigator (PI), prepare modifications of protocols to increase efficiencies of research output and conduct advanced technical analyses. This position requires up to date knowledge of literature and research technology in the field of reproductive and stem biology and uses this knowledge to assist in the development of lab procedures/protocols.
A Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate related scientific or engineering discipline and three (3) years of progressively responsible related professional research experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. A Master’s degree in an appropriate related scientific or engineering discipline may be substituted for up to one year of the required work experience.
At least one year of experience working in a laboratory setting in biomedical, biological, or animal science.
