Detailed Job Description

The job duties of the successful candidate will include curriculum development; advising students; teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in software engineering; participating in the continuous teaching assessment activities of the School of EECS; effectively communicating and interacting with students; and collaborating with others within the School, the University, or other organizations.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must hold a PhD in Computer Science or a related discipline, or hold a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and have several years of teaching or industrial experience in software engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with exceptional teaching credentials in software engineering with demonstrated ability in curriculum development, student advising, and scholarly work are sought. Preference will be given to candidates having exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to diversifying the student body, and with potential to foster industry partnerships,

Monthly Salary

The School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at Washington State University (WSU) invites applications for a full-time clinical (non-tenure-track) teaching faculty position in Computer Science with teaching emphasis in software engineering. The position is in the School’s remote program at WSU North Puget Sound, Everett, WA. Rank (Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor) is negotiable depending on the final candidate’s credentials and experience.

WSU North Puget Sound at Everett (NPSE), WA is charged with greatly expanding access to high-quality baccalaureate and graduate degree programs in the region and the state. With a focus on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, the growth of WSU NPSE will align with the economic development and vitality of the region and the state of Washington to prepare graduates for leadership in a rapidly changing and globally connected world.
