The position will report to the Coordinator of the Automotive Programs and will be responsible for developing field based learning opportunities for SJC automotive technology students in the ASEP, CAP and TTEN, programs. Duties will include but not be limited to making regular recruitment visits to dealerships and schools in New Mexico and six surrounding states. Coordinate efforts with high school automotive instructors, counselors, dealership service managers/directors and state employment agencies for the purpose of identifying prospective students for the programs. Coordinate/facilitate student placement with dealerships and verify completion of the placement process with dealership service managers/directors. Market Automotive and other Trades and Technology programs by attending job fairs, open houses, career nights, etc. throughout NM and surrounding states. Coordinate housing process with the automotive coordinator and business office. Work with Financial aid application process for students. Review and evaluate ALL student placement test scores, and assist in the development and maintenance of recruitment material, and social media pages. A secondary responsibility, when time and schedule permit, is to verify that cooperative education competencies are being met at the various work sites. 50% of work will involve travel. All other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator.
