This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic, developing program in a team environment for an ideal candidate responsible for coordinating an all-inclusive program guiding pre-health students, particularly those interested in Pre-Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
Essential Duties include:
•Coordinate all inclusive program for Pre-Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy
•Provide workshops, teaching modules, and program assessments
•Recruitment and retention of pre-health students
•Coordinate pre-health as STEM, pipeline, and education programs in local high schools/community colleges
Responsibilities include but are not limited to an all-inclusive program supporting Pre-Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy; collaboration with departmental academic advisors, counsel students concerning career and course choices, academic major, and application process for professional schools. Maintain good working relationships with faculty and staff in degree programs at WSU and with admissions offices for the professional schools at collaborating institutions.
Additionally, a significant part of the job includes student recruitment and retention to the University and the Health Professions Student Center as a student resource. Provide support and proactive outreach and service to currently enrolled students to ensure retention goals are met and exceeded. Distribute marketing resources, educational resources, and promotional materials for student recruitment and retention programs; analyze recruitment and retention trends; prepare reports. Assist in facilitating the development and coordination of special projects as assigned by unit director.
Responsibilities may include occasionally working evenings and weekends.
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.
Experience with recruitment and outreach.
Experience collecting and managing data.
Experience with physical therapy/occupational therapy or other health care.
Experience in Career development.
