Under administrative direction, supervises the operations of maintenance personnel to meet the needs of the area of responsibility.

Associate’s degree; supplemented with three (3) years of related work experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Supervises general and skilled maintenance workers; oversees and schedules off hour maintenance coverage, which is a group that works with the Department of Public Safety to ensure 24/7 emergency maintenance personnel present on campus.

Works with building occupants and the registrar to adjust temperatures and monitor schedules with Johnson Control BAS (Building Automation System); monitors alarm status for crucial systems (i.e. data centers, freezers); works with researchers needing to set and trend environmental parameters for experiments.

Works with the Construction Services department on reviewing renovations and new building projects to provide a seamless transition between project and occupancy.

Monitors safety, risk management, and state and federal compliance logs (i.e. refrigerant tracking, department of natural resources air pollution, OSHA safety training documentation); assists with accreditation logs (i.e. Comparative Medicine and SLUMA museum trend logs).
