Serves as an Equal Opportunity Investigator for cases alleging race, national origin, color, disability, age over 40, religious, veteran, genetic information, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, discrimination, harassment, and sexual violence/assault misconduct and retaliation complaints, involving students, faculty, employees, visitors, and persons or vendors who serve the University as its agents. Assists in meeting U.S. Department of Education and Office of Civil Rights compliance standards and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of experience in human resources, equal opportunity, title IX, Clery, SaVE, VAWA,Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title II of the ADA, and other similar EEO laws, or a closely related field. Experience in an academic setting in investigating employee and/or student conduct, sexual harassment, or misconduct areas. Ability to work a flexible shift when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree or other graduate degree and four years of experience in human resources, equal opportunity, Title IX, Clery, SaVE, VAWA,Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title II of the ADA, and other similar EEO laws, or a closely related field.

Prior experience with public entity or State of Utah investigation procedure.

Conflict resolution/mediation.

Experience providing training to employees and/or students is also helpful.

Knowledge

Knowledge in Title IX, Clery, SaVE, VAWA,Title VII of the Civil Rights of 1964, Title II of the ADA, and other similar EEO laws.

Knowledge and complete understanding of conflict resolution basics.

Knowledge in research (including legal research)

Knowledge and familiarity with FERPA and HIPAA regulation.

Knowledge of and experience in Microsoft office.

Skills

Skills in the use of computers and Microsoft office, including word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, databases.

Skills in office methods, techniques, practices, and procedures.

Skills in the preparation and interpretation of reports, charts, graphs, and tables.

Skills in investigation methods and techniques.

Skills in preparation of comprehensive complex reports.

Pay Range

$41,804 - $55,739
