Detailed Job Description

The Assistant Director, Recruitment and External Relations, Summer Principals Academy is responsible for the overall integrity and administrative management of the Summer Principals Academy (SPA). This entails continuous communication with the Director of the Academy, the departmental Director of Academic Administration and the Office of Admissions, involvement in all aspects of the program including admissions, marketing and promotion, recruitment, academic advising, operational responsibility for faculty hiring, program management, financial oversight, career placement, alumni relationships and programming, adjunct faculty recruitment and support, assisting Director with budget development and management, and external fund raising. 

Please note: This position is stationed in New Orleans, Louisiana. Start Date: July 1, 2013  

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree; 

Knowledgeable of higher education institutions and culture, particularly in academic, financial and student affairs; 
Detail oriented; skilled multi-tasker with team player approach; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; 
Excellent judgment and proven ability to problem-solve; 
Sensitivity to confidentiality of student and faculty records; 
Strong computer skills (word processing, some spreadsheet and/or database capabilities); 
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: both oral and written; 
Strong budget management and reporting skills; 
Strong customer-service orientation; 
Task-oriented with proven ability to obtain results and meet deadlines; 
Willingness and ability to travel and work FT in New Orleans.

Preferred Qualification
MBA, and/or advanced professional degree; 
Prior experience as an effective recruiter/manager; 
At least three years of recruiting experience (demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively about recruitment), strongly preferred; 
A minimum of 5 years experience in public school setting; 
Strategic thinking and strategic data analysis abilities highly desirable; 
IT experience with web design, social media and Google sites/docs.
