Under the direction of the Information Systems/Technology Department Chair, teaches information technology and information systems subjects and develops innovative instructional materials as part of the learning methodology. Creates an environment conducive to optimal learning and provides opportunities for students to develop their fullest potential and achieve their learning objectives.
Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with an appropriate degree in a related field to the coursework being taught. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. See preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications.
Specific Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in information technology or information systems or a closely related field plus post-secondary teaching experience required.
Knowledge of course content and subject matter pertinent to accreditation in Information Technology (i.e. data communications, scripting, network design and administration, information security, network operating systems, project management, virtualization, and emerging technologies, etc.).
Knowledge of and experience using on-line teaching technology, such as Canvas or other course learning systems.
Knowledge of and experience in using current program software (C#, Linux, Windows).
Skilled in IT technical areas.
Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Skilled in maintaining professional and ethical academic standards.
Ability to develop curricula and teach IT courses.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a diverse student-body and faculty.
Ability to apply multimedia hardware/software in classroom teaching.
