Under the general direction of the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment maintains responsibility for activities related to the recruitment of University Campus students within assigned domestic and international geographic territory. Primary responsibility for communicating with overseas agencies and agents as well as their target recruits. As well as South Florida, Central America and North America. The Assistant Director leads the recruitment and application review process, and manages prospective student communications from the point of initial contact through all admission and enrollment requirements.

Basic Function:

Territory Management: formulates travel, telephone and email communication plan from inquiring through to enrolled students in support of overall goals for international first year students.

Recruiting and Counseling Prospective Students: develops strong working relationships with agents and agencies, prospective students, including parents/family members; exercises independent judgment in evaluating students as potential candidates for admission with particular emphasis on academic preparation and have excellent communication skills and relationship management skills.

Info Sessions: conducts presentations to prospective students and their parents/families. Work collaboratively within admissions and across campus to ensure that enrollment objectives are achieved.

Communication: initiate tracked and documented telephone / email contact with prospective students and applicants to ensure that prospective and admitted students receive personal verbal and written communication; document each telephone and email contact. Outstanding speaking, writing and listening skills are required.

Application File Review: reading applications, recommending students for review by Admission Committee. Must exercise good judgment regarding the academic, personal and co-curricular qualities Saint Leo University desires in its student body.

Set prospective student communication plan from the point of initial contact through Fall matriculation.

Financial Aid: develop expertise in describing Saint Leo University’s merit scholarships and financial aid awarding policies and practices, and ensure the highest level of service and accuracy with families.

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, liberal arts or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Must have a friendly, outgoing personality to meet with new people in new places on a regular basis. Strong communication and negotiation skills are also valuable.

Experience with academic administration. Excellent supervisory and customer service skills. Ability to effectively plan and organize work. Excellent computer skills. Be a team player who is able to work well in a fast paced environment.
Fluency in Portuguese, Spanish and English

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, liberal arts or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Related professional experience
Proficiency with MS Office and managing databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

One to three years college recruitment or other relevant sales or recruitment experience preferred.
Additionally-1 year international recruitment experience preferred.

Admission Travel: Possible 8-10 weeks of international admission-related travel in the fall and 3-5 weeks in the spring/summer may be required; travel abroad includes tours, high school visits and college fairs; receptions for prospective and admitted students.
Master’s degree in business, human resources, liberal arts or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university.

Must be fluent in multiple languages
