The College of Arts and Sciences at The University of Alabama announces an opening for a psychologist in the UA Autism Spectrum Disorders Clinic, housed in the Department of Psychology.

Job Description

The clinic psychologist works within an interdisciplinary team to provide Autism specific diagnostic, intervention, and consultation services to individuals and families. The psychologist will conduct 2-3 Autism specific psychological evaluations per week with individuals ranging in age from 16 months across the lifespan. In addition, the psychologist will maintain a caseload of 10-15 therapy clients and offer individual one-time consultation sessions to families to address a variety of behavioral and educational concerns.

The position is scheduled to begin on or before July 1, 2016. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. Applicants must be licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the state of Alabama. Training in cognitive and developmental assessment and cognitive behavioral interventions is required. Autism-specific assessment and intervention experience is required; however, formal training to reliably administer the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) is preferred, but not required.

The UA ASD Clinic is an interdisciplinary team that includes professionals from psychology, speech/language pathology, and pediatrics. The clinic offers diagnostic, intervention, consultation, and training services to families and the surrounding community.

As part of their application, candidates should submit a letter outlining their experience working within an interdisciplinary team, experience working as a psychologist/grad student with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders/Autism Spectrum Disorders, and any other relevant experience.
