Under the direction of the Director of Alumni Relations, the Coordinator of Alumni Marketing and Membership is responsible for developing, executing, and evaluating long-range membership and marketing programs and objectives. Also responsible for overseeing alumni association fundraising efforts and campaigns including affinity programs, license plate program, etc.
Essential Functions, Major Duties, and/or Accountabilities:
1. Research alumni audience to determine appropriate programs, benefits, products, services and campaigns. Prepare yearly strategic marketing plan based on research that is tied to Alumni strategic plan. Research and execute techniques to design and promote the website and on-line services to all constituents and oversee the development, maintenance and coordination of the Alumni Association website, and other on-line services. Produce and execute marketing campaigns and materials designed to increase uvualumni.org registrations, new Association memberships, and social networking connections and to increase attendance at Alumni events. 30%
2. Pursue and secure sponsorships, partnership agreements, and third-party collaborations to support Alumni Association and UVU Alumni Relations goals. Select and supervise third party vendors for alumni association's benefits package (e.g. affinity card, insurance programs, travel services, etc.) to assure that they are consistent with Association objectives and are fulfilling contractual obligations. Possesses independent authority to negotiate and engage the University and Association in agreements from a preapproved set of options at or below $5000.00. Develop, manage and monitor the components of the Association budget that are related to the marketing, membership recruitment and retention activities, member benefits and programming. 30%
3. Oversee Alumni Association fund raising efforts and campaigns, including license plate program, Student Giving Campaign, Community Alumni Program, and other programs. This includes, but is not limited to, developing a detailed plan, creating promotional materials, working with appropriate vendors and tracking the outcome of the various efforts. Coordinates fundraising efforts with central Development. 15%
4. Work with other Alumni Association staff in planning and implementing events intended to increase awareness of and membership in the association, and collaborate with staff from other Advancement units and university departments as appropriate. Establish relationships and work collaboratively with the appropriate representatives of the Marketing department, colleges/schools and other university staff to generate interest in the alumni association among alumni and current students of the university. This may include having an Association presence at and participation in their events. 15%
5.Analyze results and prepare monthly reports tracking progress and growth trends of alumni membership. 10%
