Under the direction of the Department Chair, designs and teaches courses in nursing (didactic and clinical/lab) and plans and prepares approved courses of study with measurable objectives for each course. Participates in other activities in support of teaching/learning and program development (e.g., curriculum development, accreditation) as required.
Graduation from an accredited institution with terminal, earned degree appropriate to discipline. ABD accepted. Knowledge and skill in current instructional theories, strategies, techniques, and discipline content. Evidence of potential for scholarly/creative work consistent with a teaching university. See preferred qualifications for discipline or program-specific minimum qualifications.
Graduation from an accredited institution with a Master’s degree in Nursing required.
Must be licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a Registered Nurse in Utah.
Must be current with immunization status and CPR certification.
Knowledge of subject matter and course content.
Knowledge of current trends in nursing.
Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques.
Skill in student management, motivation, evaluation and recruitment.
Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse institution.
Ability to speak in public and write reports.
Ability to move to clinical agencies from place to place.
