Detailed Job Description

Under the direction of the Vice President of Development & Alumni Relations, the Senior Director of Alumni Relations & Annual Giving oversees the Alumni Relations and Annual Giving units within the Division of Development and Alumni Relations and also serves as the Director of the Alumni Board of Directors. Specific duties of the Sr. Director include developing strategies and programs for increased engagement with University’s alumni and other prospective donors, such as parents. The Senior Director oversees the efforts of the annual giving program, including the UVU Telefund. The Senior Director is also part of the Division leadership team and will collaborate closely with colleagues leading the Donor Engagement group, Development Officers, and Development Services group.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in a directly related field, plus four years of experience related to the Summary of Duties of the position or Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field, plus six years related to the Summary of Duties of the position or any combination of higher education and/or experience totaling ten years.

Knowledge

Strong understanding of the U.S. higher education environment and academic and alumni culture.

Knowledge of web site development, web 2.0 resources, and use of social media.

Experience with budget management and strategic planning.

Understanding of annual giving best practices.

Working knowledge of call center operations.

Understanding of periodical publication process.

Skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Skills in the use of personal computers and Microsoft Office or similar office productivity software applications.

Database management skills.

Abilities

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Ability to plan and implement promotional programs.

Ability to design and write promotional material.

Ability to plan, organize, and facilitate a range of special events.

Ability to develop, prepare, and deliver effective education programs, seminars and workshops relating to Alumni Relations.

Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions.

Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

Exceptional ability to recruit, develop and supervise volunteers.

Pay Range

$58,043 to $77,390
