While we do not have any current vacancies, from time to time, the English Department hires part-time lecturers to teach courses in Composition, Argument and Research and Developmental Writing. Qualified candidates who wish to be considered when openings arise may submit application materials.
The Composition Program is seeking individuals to teach one (1) or two course (s) in Developmental Writing, Composition, and/or Argument and Research to first year students. The successful candidates will be expected to develop a syllabus that follows departmental guidelines, provide classroom instruction, and grade papers. In order to provide individualized attention to students, instructors are required to hold an appropriate number of regular office hours and to make themselves available by appointment.
Experience and Qualifications:
Candidates must possess either a PhD, MFA or MA in English, demonstrated prior experience teaching college – level writing, along with a strong commitment to undergraduate, liberal arts education.
