Stockton University seeks a highly energetic, innovative, experienced and forward-looking Assistant Director of Residential Life with a proven record of successful leadership in promoting an integrated, engaged, dynamic student experience in a growing residential life program. Successful candidates will display a passion for working in the area of operations, housing assignments and marketing; a commitment to the mission and vision of the University; ability to promote community through operations, logistics, long-term planning, and campus partnerships; and exhibits the highest personal and professional ethical standards. Qualities of the successful candidate will be a genuine desire to manage housing assignments, operations reports, multiple responsibilities, and experience in marketing, social media, technology, planning, and assessment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree in Student Personnel or related field required. Experience managing residence hall assignments, marketing efforts, residence hall opening and closing plans, facilitating residential life training and selection, programming planning and emergency management experience required. Experience with card access systems, StarRez technology, marketing and social media projects preferred.   Ability to interface with individuals from diverse backgrounds is essential. Candidates will demonstrate a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in the field of residential life and/or student affairs.

Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Residential Life Operations, the Assistant Director is responsible for the following:

  1. Serves as the primary person responsible for StarRez and Banner for the housing assignment process. Manages all functions which include, but are not limited to, housing applications/meal plan records, room and apartment selection process, renewal and new student deposits, new student fees, room changes, housing priority list, housing cancellations, and assignment correspondence.
  2. Selects, trains, supervises and evaluates one Professional Services Specialist 4 position.
  3. Serves as the primary contact for families, students, and staff concerning housing assignments and room selection.
  4. Provide oversight of marketing initiatives for Residential Life including web page, publications, and social media.
  5. Assists resident students and parents in their transition to college and residential life through coordination of marketing efforts including correspondences, publications, web page, and programs pertaining to Residential Life.
  6. Manages the coordination of admissions and/or orientation events for prospective families and students including scheduling of staff.
  7. Coordinates Fall/Spring opening activities, which includes housing registration, scheduling of staff, distribution of housing and meal contracts and other housing documents, distribution of keys, prepare reports to support room-by-room occupancy checks and related activities.  Coordinates Fall/Spring closing activities, which includes scheduling of staff, electronic room condition forms, collection of keys, break closing lists, and related activities.
  8. Develops marketing initiatives for housing assignments, room changes, and room selection. Maintains all departmental forms, publications, web based processes and mailings.
  9. Manages departmental software and residential telecommunications systems, computerized housing assignments/records, and housing assignment process.
  10. Prepares, monitors, reviews, reconciles, and produces reports related to Residential Life operations.
  11. Meets and communicates regularly with critical campus partners such as Admissions, Athletics, Bursar, Computer Services, EOF, Athletics, Learning Access Program, Marketing, Financial Aid, External Affairs, Honors, Plant Management, and Campus Police.
  12. Serves on office, departmental and University wide committees as needed.
  13. Serves as a member of the Residential Life central leadership team while participating in on call responsibilities, which may include evening, weekend, and holidays.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned by the Associate Director for Residential Life – Operations, Associate Director for Residence Education, the Director of Residential Life, the Dean of Students and/or the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs.

SALARY: $65,736.09
