The English department at Wheaton College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in English secondary education to begin July 1, 2012, with preference given to candidates with training in composition and rhetoric. The ideal candidate will have earned a Ph.D. in English secondary education from an English graduate program, taught high school English, obtained certification at the state level (6-12), and have an aptitude for completing state and national accreditation reports. The teaching load for this position could include: methods of teaching English, history of the English language, adolescent literature, as well as practicum and student teaching supervision. Teaching ability in both literature and writing is expected.
