Responsibilities

Teach one to two sections of BusAd 113 (Business in the Digital Age) to undergraduate students during the 2012-2013 academic year.
 
Course Description:
 
113 Business in the Digital Age
An examination of the impact on business of digital technologies and the use of digital technologies in corporate communication and on-line marketing.  Specific topics may include web-conferencing and other real-time options for meeting and collaboration, virtual corporate environments and 3D realms (e.g., Second Life), social and professional networking, mobile computing, web advertising tools, and e-commerce. Because of the high rate of change in digital technology and its use in business, a part of the course will be reserved for mapping emerging technologies.
 
The instructor is expected to provide at least three office hours per week during the semester.

Experience and Qualifications:

Candidate must meet the criteria to be considered either academically qualified or professionally qualified as per the standards set forth by the School of Economics and Business Administration of Saint Mary’s College of California.
 
Key criteria for being considered academically qualified are  
 
The attainment of a doctorate within the last five years in a field directly or at least closely related to the subject matter of the course described above.
 
                                               OR
 
Possession of a doctorate in a field directly or at least closely related to the subject matter of the course described above along with at least two published intellectual contributions over the past five years. These publications are required to have been subjected to an external review process either by academic peers or by editors who apply similar criteria. An intellectual contribution can be in the form of a refereed journal article or case, a scholarly book, chapters in a scholarly book, or a textbook.
 
Key criteria for being considered professionally qualified are
 
Possession of at least a master's degree in a field directly or at least closely related to the subject matter of the course described above
 
                                                  AND
Relevant professional experience in a field directly or at least closely related to the subject matter that is significant in duration and level of responsibility, and current at the time of hire
