Assistant Athletic Director (Student Services), Southern Illinois University Carbondale, an NCAA Division I member of the Missouri Valley Conference.
Responsibilities: This position is responsible for coordinating support services for student-athletes relating to their academic, athletic, personal, social and career development; trains, supervises and evaluates the academic support staff, and long-range planning and day-to-day operation of the unit; monitoring satisfactory progress of student-athletes according to SIU, Conference and NCAA rules and regulations and ensuring that this information is used to accurately advise student-athletes as they progress toward degrees; works closely with campus units, and serving as athletic department liaison for various academic and non-academic campus departments; daily operations of the academic portion of the Troutt-Wittmann Academic & Training Center.
Minimum Requirements: Master's degree, three years of experience in athletics academic advising on the college level, and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations related to academic eligibility required. Preferred experience at the NCAA Division I level in athletic academic counseling.
Appointment: 12-month term, full-time, salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
