FULL-TIME ENROLLMENT/ACADEMIC COUNSELOR: (Lawrence Campus) (Enrollment Services) 37.5 hours per week. (MCCC/MTA Unit Position). Position requires non-traditional hours, including nights and occasional weekends related to College Recruitment Events.
The Admissions Counselor will work with the Admissions and Recruitment team, serve as a member of the One-Stop Student Services Team and report to the Director of Admissions & Recruitment. The position includes recruitment of adult/non-traditional and high school populations, dual enrollment, early college programs and related activities with a primary focus on the top feeder high schools and districts. She/he will practice comprehensive developmental advising and enrollment services (with an emphasis on access and financial aid) to support new and prospective students. The Admissions Counselor duties will include (but not be limited to):
Master's degree in education, counseling, or related area required with three or more years of significant experience and/or training in college admissions and recruitment, financial aid, and career and academic planning. Strong identification with adult, first generation, low income, and disadvantaged students towards promoting their access to higher education opportunities. Demonstrated commitment to diversity and student success. Excellence in verbal and written communication skills and dynamic presentation skills. Well organized, resilient, flexible and have the ability to work independently on a variety of projects and as a member of a team. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Student Information Systems (preferably Banner Student Information System by Ellucian). Must be Bilingual (Spanish/English)
Experience working in a fast paced environment as an admissions representative, planning and implementing recruitment activities and events. Preference given to those with prior experience working or studying in a 2-year/Community College setting, developmental advising experience and working with individuals from diverse and/or underrepresented populations.).
Salary: $50,786.00 to $73,639.00 annually with complete fringe benefit package. Actual salary calculated in compliance with MCCC/MTA classification system; Pay grade 5
