The Assistant Director of Regional Advancement is a critical member of the Advancement team at Miami University's regionals, located in Hamilton, Middletown and West Chester. The successful candidate will take the Regionals's alumni group (MURALS) to the next level, serving regional campus alumni and students, and will host a variety of special events of the upmost quality.
Will be responsible the successful planning, implementation and evaluation of alumni and targeted special events at Miami’s regional locations, to include, but not limited to:
General Alumni engagement events for Miami’s regional campuses.
Specific alumni programs for departments in the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science
Student alumni and giving activities
Wilks and Casper Dinners, Lectures and receptions
In conjunction with the Regional Advancement team, will play an active role in other events.
Will track the invitation and participation of guests at events in the university CRM database (Banner)
Will assist the Regional Campus Dean’s office and other partner offices, with other events as deemed appropriate.
Will be responsible for soliciting table sponsorships/business support for events when appropriate.
Will work with the Regional Office of Communications and Marketing on externally-focused events, such as Chamber of Commerce expos, Community activities, and others.
Will work with the Regional Office of Communications and Marketing on maintaining the regional campus events calendar, and will work with other leading community agencies as the Miami liaison for event planning and coordination.
Will utilize social media and alumni engagement purposes.
Will participate as an active member of the Office of Regional Advancement on team projects, such as the Newsletter Editorial Board.
Three or more years’ experience in event planning, volunteer management, external relations, development or related field.
