Managing a team of 12 individuals, including four direct reports.
Designing the strategy for the acknowledgement and recognition of all University donors
Implementing high-end stewardship of principal gift donors, engaging alumni and parents through recognition events throughout the University’s major markets, and working closely with colleagues in the development department to design and implement strategy for the University’s top prospects.
Working collaboratively with diverse departments both within Advancement and the University at large, including the Office of the President.
This role oversees the President’s Advancement travel, including events and donor visits, manages the briefing process, and ensures that we are engaging the President and other top University officials with our donors.
Additionally, as part of the stewardship responsibilities, this role oversees the gift agreement and gift compliance teams to ensure that we are spending donor funds according to donor intent.
Working closely, but not exclusively, with AVPs, development officers, marketing and communications department, OSFS, and volunteer boards, including, among others, the Board of Regents.
A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven years of experience in higher education development, donor relations, stewardship, or other relevant nonprofit experience; a Master's degree is preferred.
The diversity of workload requires leadership, flexibility, efficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines for a wide variety of assignments.
This position also requires tact, diplomacy, and confidentiality in dealing with members of the University community and the Universitys donors.
Strong computer skills, including Microsoft applications.
