Under the direction of the Corporate Support Manager, this position is responsible for implementing effective strategies for cultivating business support and community engagement for Northwest Public Radio (NWPR). NWPR is a highly regarded community institution and the position requires excellent professional communication and presentation skills.
The incumbent will identify and develop relationships with organizations and businesses while working within the station’s Community Partnerships and Development team.
In addition to being able to manage their time, prioritize effectively, complete reports, and to meet goals, team members must be able to clearly articulate the value of NWPR, to develop effective long-term partnerships, and to confidently solicit and successfully generate on-going financial support.
Successful candidates must enjoy sales, engaging with perspective program sponsors, and creative problem solving.
This position is designated as a temporary, 12-month position and it may be renewed based on the needs of the department and/or funding.
Work Location: Clover Park Technical College, Lakewood, WA
A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Two (2) years full-time media sales, development, fundraising, community relations, or underwriting.
Experience in public radio and/or television.
Demonstrated Community Involvement (service clubs, boards, or other volunteer work).
