The Risk Manager directs and controls Risk Management Services program operations. The incumbent will manage risk management and insurance budgets, policies, procedures, data, and supervise staff.
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in a field related to the functional managerial area which has included at least one (1) year of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, Risk Management, provide expert level risk financing services (insurance) to the University. Independently manages and administers the majority of the University’s commercial insurance portfolio, manages the self-insured Vehicle Insurance Program, assists the Assistant Director with the management of the University’s statutory liability self-insurance program (SILP), and consults with the WSU community at all locations on risk management and insurance questions.View the Benefits overview for information regarding competitive benefits available.
