A full-time Research Associate position is available in the Tomoyasu lab at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. Our lab studies molecular mechanisms underlying morphological evolution using insects as a model system (http://www.miamioh.edu/tomoyasu).
Essential duties for this position include performing routine molecular biology procedures in the lab, performing histological procedures using insect tissues, maintaining insect stocks, advising undergraduate students, and helping in writing scientific papers and grant proposals.
The successful candidate must have an MS degree in Biology or related field, and have strong technical skills in molecular and developmental biology.
For this position, Miami University will not sponsor applicants for H-1B work status.
Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience in insect biology/biochemistry and in writing scientific papers/grant proposals.
One year-appointment with potential for renewal for up to three years dependent upon performance and funding.
