Detailed Job Description

The Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for working in cooperation with the Coordinator of Health Services and medical consultants in all aspects of examination, treatment and care of injured athletes. To accomplish this objective, the Head Athletic Trainer is expected to attend all athletic events scheduled during college-closed periods, if appropriate.  

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in sports medicine, physical therapy or closely related field required. NATA Certification required.

Minimum of one year experience as an athletic trainer.

Demonstrated customer service.

Demonstrated care and prevention of athletic injuries.

Ability to work independently with attention to details and deadlines.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with students, faculty, staff, the medical community and the public.  

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum of three years of experience as an athletic trainer.

Familiarity with ImPACT Concussion Software.
