Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Department of Kinesiology is seeking a part time Lecturer/Instructor the Department of Kinesiology with a specialization in the area of Dance. The department offers degrees in Kinesiology at the bachelor's level (Physical Education Teacher Education, Exercise Science and Sports Administration) and master's Level (Exercise Science and Sports Studies). Position is contingent on available funding.
Responsibilities: The Department needs to have three undergraduate courses taught primarily in the Dance Minor and Musical Theater major programs for the Spring of 2016 semester. These include: (a) KIN 100 Introduction to Dance - 2 credit hours, (b) KIN 103C Dance-Jazz - 2 credit hours, and (c) KIN 103D Dance-Modern - 2 credit hours for a total of a 6 credit hour position.
Qualifications: The rank of an Instructor requires a minimum of a master's degree in Kinesiology. The preferred rank of a Lecturer requires a minimum of doctoral degree.
Position: This position is a term appointment which could be renewed each subsequent semester dependent upon enrollment and departmental need. An additional summer appointment may be possible is if there funding and student demand.Effective Date of Employment: This position begins January 01, 2016.
